 Welcome to the Broadmoor United Methodist Student Ministry webpage. It doesn’t matter if you found us by accident while surfing the web or if you are looking for information about our church and its youth ministry, we pray that what you will see and read here will be helpful to you and your family. We desire to see our youth grow closer to Christ and closer to others in their schools, neighborhoods, sports teams, malls, and with their friends and family. This ministry is a team effort that doesn’t just focus on Sunday mornings, but strives to live in the lives of our youth and their families. Can U Txt? We are going to try something new at Broadmoor in April to help youth, parents, and others find out about what goes on with our family of believers. Here is what you do, simply Sign up for our TXT message alerts and enter your cell phone number and your carrier, and click the subscribe button. You will immediately receive a confirmation text and soon you will be receiving the latest information, news, and devotionals from our student ministry. Remember that regular text messaging rates will apply. and make sure you know what is going on with our ministry. Make sure you have TXT with your phone plan!

Join us on Thursday, May 22 for dinner, fun, and THE movie! This is going to be a late night of fun Jones style to celebrate the end of the school year & the new movie. Hey Seniors! We will have your Senior Brunch at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 4. After that, we will participate in the 11:00 worship service in the Sanctuary and in the River where you will be honored as a graduating senior. If you and your family will be able to attend the Senior Sunday celebration, please email us at eric@broadmooryouth.com or call the church office at 861-0586 by April 15 and let us know how many people will be attending with you.
There are many ways that you may participate in the worship service. You may sing, you may speak, you may read scripture, you may do so many things! All we need is to know ahead of time. Just let me know what you want to do. Since it is a tradition to show off all of your great pictures from the past years, we are asking that you compile about 20 to 30 of your best shots for us to show off. If possible, include baby pictures, elementary school pictures, the dreaded middle school pictures, high school pictures, a few senior pictures, and just fun pictures of you and your friends in the youth group. Take a look at the information sheet to help answer any technical questions you might have about the senior show. We will be accepting your pictures, videos, and music on CD between April 1 and April 20. If we do not have your pictures by Sunday, April 20, your pictures may not be included in the Senior Sunday worship insert or the video for Senior Sunday.
It's amazing to look back and see how much ground we've covered in the last seven years together. This has been a positive and rewarding year so far for our student ministry, and I'm proud of all of you for your prayers and participation. We're looking forward to even bigger and better things in the future.

Join us on Sunday, May 4 as we are joined by First UMC Shreveport, First UMC Bossier, Asbury UMC, Christ UMC, Benton UMC, Summer Grove UMC, Grace UMC, Noel UMC, and other churches from around the Shreveport/Bossier area for a one of a kind worship service called "Declaration". For those of you who have been before, you know what we are talking about. If you have not been with us before, you don't want to miss it. We will meet at Broadmoor at 5 for snack supper and then be joined by the other churches in Aderson Hall for a one of a kind worship experience. If you would like to help plan and be a part of this worship, talk with Eric.

Join us on our Senior High Mission Trip this June 8-15 as we travel to Nashville, Tennessee to do inner-city mission work with the Center For Student Missions. This great trip is open to all youth that have finished 8th-12th grade, college students, and parents. The cost of the trip is approximately $650 per person, but with the help of our church family and our annual stock sale, the price should come out to approximately $150-$300 per person. Join us for Weekend of the Cross July 24-27 and make a difference in lives of others. The Weekend of the Cross is a Christ-driven mission opportunity for youth who feel a calling to serve Chirst and to spread the love and grace of Jesus Christ to those who are in need. Take a break, visit with friends, eat some panckaes on Wednesday, May 21 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Our senior class and adult volunteers will serve you some pancakes so that you can finish your finals.

Up close. No script. Very real. That is what "The Room" is all about. Did you ever wonder what some of your friends rooms looked like when you are not around? You can find out on Sunday nights at UMY. During the week, our staff here at Broadmoor UMC will sneak into your bedroom and videotape everything we see. Will you know that we have been there? Proabaly not. You will never know that we have been there until you see your room up on the big screen at church. Make sure to be at UMY on time this week to see if your room has been chosen for "The Room".
